AWA ..part of Holy Grail ?

Hi there,
In my attempt to learn to differentiate the wheat from the chaff in AWA products,
is this chaff or something similar to the *sheep shearing shed PA *?

bit hard to tell from the soft focus photo but i'd put my money on this being an attenuator set. Essentially a very accurate but clumbersome volume control
