I had a capacitor in the switchmode powersupply in my Linn9000 go up in smoke the other day..

I replaced it, but forgot to clean away the sticky residue near where the dead cap had smoked everywhere.

Now, when I fire it up.. after a few minutes the whole room starts smelling like burnt electronics, as the heatsinks nearby warm up the tar.

This gave me an idea, about some sort of essential oil that you could place a few drops onto the power transformer etc to fill your studio with fragrant smells.

But what smells? Freshly baked cookies? - "Have you been baking today? nah, I just been using my fender twin"

New gear smell?
