Is the EQ on the 737 channel strip the same as the EQ in the AD2055?

From what I know, no.

In a broad design sense, yes. In detail, completely different.

I'm looking for that top end "shine" that the AD2055 has for VO work, recoding with the U47w. If it's in the same ball park sonically I might pick one up.

You can borrow my 2055 for a bit if you want to try it out, or need it for a job. I'd get the 2055, I love mine.

Thanks Heath. I have used the 2055 before and really liked it. Was hoping I could get a channel strip with a similar vibe.

I have my eye on a 2055 and a Focusrite Red 2.... not sure which.

Tough call Kris, I'd still go the Avalon, though I can see a red2 sitting next to my 2055 someday. :) I need another comp after selling my API, derrrrr on me. Hmmmm might have to check out an stc8.

hmmm..... I have lead on a Red 2 that is $800 less than the 2055 I was looking at. This set up would be for my TV room so mostly for voice over work. I have a tv series on at the moment so there's some cash flow for necessary gear.

With the discontinuing of the Red line I'm nervous the prices are going to start getting stupid. The Red stuff is/was quite good IMO.

Maybe I should just forget it and buy a used TC gold channel!

Maybe just buy the Red if they are being discontinued and get an Avalon later. Both would be great to have.

Niiice! I like the look of the Focusrite units too, I know that does'nt count much but they just look so well built.
