I pulled out my disembowelment cd last week, it had been a while since i listened to it. it is absolutely magnificent from music to mastering - i checked the credits, it was recorded/mixed by doug saunders whom i've since found out has passed away. it sure sounds like he was a gun. anyway, i'm curious as to what happened to his studio "toybox", i know he sold it - is that now "toyland"?

hello, yes the story is that I was running Toyland in the city, and Doug was running Toybox in Northcote, at around the same time as I was looking for a new place, Doug was getting out of the studio business to concentrate on multimedia and graphics.

so Toyland moved into the Toybox studio and Doug kept a office for his computer work until he passed away. There were in fact 7 studios of various sizes operating in the complex.

currently myself and Martin Holmes have taken over the entire building, I'm still running Toyland and have taken over 3 of the studios, Martin has his Logitronics repair business. we also have studios hired out to Smash and Grab, a dance electronic duo, and AJ who has his Tendertrap studio in the front and has built himself a nice CR and vocal booth.
