Anyone have an oppinion on JBL 4315 - 4 way 12"8"5"HFD ( OBS) ?? are they worth keeping ?? .. they seem to lack bass ... maybe a sub would help ... maybe a better x-over network would help ??

They're considered a bit of an audiophile monitor, and I wouldn't be junking them just yet. The specs say they should go down to 35Hz, so bass shouldn't be a prob, and its likely that something is wrong in the line if you're not hearing any woof.

Yes, the X-over may be a prob, plus the usual suspects of the woofer foam, driver cone, alignment, coil burnout etc etc, all the usual things that go wrong over time.

So, the big question is whether you have isolated the 4315's as the prob (eg by trying another set of monitors in their place). If so, dropping them in for an overhaul might be the go. If not, the prob may lie elsewhere at the 4315's are just the messenger.

If a JBL needs a subwoofer, its general pretty obvious. My Control 1's, for example :-)
