Recommended valve amp service person in Melbourne?

Postby vanderlae » Fri Dec 03, 2010 10:23 am

Hi guys,

I've got two valve amps I need to have serviced - Laney VC30 2-12 and early 70's JMP800 bass head, and I'm looking for a wiz locally.

Incidentally the VC30 needs a service because it's got a lot of internal rattles and a buzz issue and when I play through it, it emits a terrible rattle-buzz that when recorded sounds like clipping when playing certain notes. Pissed me off yesterday when I recorded something very delicate which sounds nice in every respect EXCEPT THE BLOODY BUZZING and rattling. Leads me to another question about upgrading amps but that's for another topic ; )

Thanks all
Dave

TIm Evans is my favourite. No nonsense, and works out cheap cause he gets stuff done so quickly.
Makes some pretty good amps too.
