replacement foam?

This has nothing to do with ribbon mikes...I've got an old sm58 which has the foam rotting away exposing the diaphram :( . Could make for an interesting sound difference but I'm gonna try an fix it. Has anyone tried out any suitable foam replacements for dynamic mics before? could always fit an old stocking I guess.....
