Hi all...

I'm revising my guitar control set up and want to eliminate the bulky ART X-15 midi controller I currently use. Preferably I'd like to replace it with a small Axess Electronics switcher. What I want to know is: Are there any midi routers that are available that go 3 in and one out? Is it even possible?

The reasoning behind it is that I want to still control my volume via midi as it is smooth from point to point unlike my volume pedal. I also want to maintain control of the fx parameters in my rack via a second pedal.

If that makes sense to anyone then feel free to comment.

This is probably not of interest but I have a Kenton GS-8 Midi Guitar Switcher here that is not used. It came in a racked guitar rig we bought, my son took the Kenton and 3630 comp out and kept the valve pre, Marshall JFX-1 and Marshall dual pwr amp, although the JFX now sit in the studio racks.

Anyways, it is a single rack unit and I imagine it would need a suitable footswitch setup connected...............midi just isn't our thang.

So it seems what you really want is a midi merger right?

I had a low cost solution when facing this problem: buy 2 x 2in, 1 out midi mergers (I think they cost me about $20 each) and daisy chain them.

As for the wireless midi, not what I need but I always did wonder if it was possible. Now, wireless power.... that would be cool.

that nicola tesla wireless power stuff is awsome - i first came accross it when researching the babbage computer (similar era)

imagine what we could have achieved if tesla's designs for wireless power were picked up, and babbage's valve-and-relay computer had've fed off that tech??!!

for a bit of a laugh, read robert rankin's "witches of chiswick" or "the hollow chocolate bunnies of the apocalypse" for an investigation of such pressing themes. . .
