re working some gear in one of the studios im doing some work in and curious about something,
we run protools & fairlight systems. There is a mackie digital 8 bus console that gets used really just to route things around and little else, most protools mixing gets done in the box.
after reading up quite a bit on summing and in a never-ending persuit to squeeze the best sound possible out of what i have im wondering if it may be better to use the D8b for the tools mixes, ie. route each channel out of tools and into the d8b, either digitally or from the 002 outputs
the mackie has apogee converters in it and i'm thinking it might improve the sound for some of the music projects i am doing in protools,
any suggestions?
