I just bought a pair of Event asp8 monitors, for budget monitors these things are awesome, I worked on a few mixes the other day with the events which I was having a little trouble with ( on ns10's) and I was happy after about 10 mins of simple eq adjustments. Then I played back the mixes on ns10's and the mixes sounded great on both ns10 and events.
I'm going to do a few more mixes then start listening on as many systems as I can find over the next few weeks, to check translation. I found the high and mid freqs to be very detailed and the lows very smooth and full. I think they are quite honest montors as well as the mixes I had trouble with on the ns10's sounded worse on the events untill I re-eq'd the individual tracks, then after i finished it translated perfectly to the ns10's and sounds great on either. I christened them with David Gilmours new album "On an Island" it sounded great. Man I'm stoked. Maybe I'm just easy to please this time haha, but not usually.
I really like them and am keeping them. They look very well made and are as heavy as hell.
Has anyone else here tried them? I'm interested in a few more opinions whether you love em or hate em.
Cheers
Heath

Sounds like a good set of monitors...
Im in the market (eventully) to replace my ageing Tannoy Reveal Actives, and was probably going down the Dynaudio route (BM6a), but I might just have to check out these puppies before I make my decision. Might be too big for my room though....
Cheers for the review!
