Portable Vocal Booth

Postby snouta » Thu May 12, 2011 12:57 pm

Just wondering if anyone can help me, I'm after a portable vocal booth type thing, like the SE Reflection Filter, or SM Pro Mic things, but these seem a bit expensive. Ive seen others on the market such as:

http://www.musoscorner.com.au/site/inde ... escription

or this pack by Auralex:

Has anyone had any experience with these products? or can offer any advice on which would be the best value?

Or would building a frame and hanging an old sheet/rug over it make for a better vocal recording?

Thanks guys,

Kristian

You can make one out of an old bass drum lined with "some absorbtive stuff" :-ss .... The swamp ones are a reasonable price though.

yeah, they seem alright, though i am actually contemplating making a frame out of PVC pipe and hanging a think sheet or rug or other thick material over it, and making it modular so it can be expanded to encompass a drum kit or amps and stuff, as i think most of the recordings will be in garages or untreated rooms.
