Yeh, 1990. Still 14 C12's for $25 each even back then was cheap.

1990 seems like yesterday.
Those prices are unbelievably cheap.

Obviously Tom was looking in the wrong places for mic bargains - Casino markets got nothing on decommisioned TV / Radio stock...

:D

In the early 90's I had a friend who was buying up huge old Moog, ARP and EMU modular systems from US universities, who were replacing them with Korg M1's and similar.
How much do M1's sell for now? Those old modulars go for $20k to $40k depending on the size and condition.

This reminds of the quote about what is value for money, $2000 spent on a computer and PT9 or $2000 spent on a vintage mic. Think about what each of them is likely to be worth in 5 years, or 10 years from now.
