Presonus Studio Live
morning all,
I was at a Karnivool gig last night and was suitably impressed with the way technology and the crew handled a problem.
During the opening act the FOH desk died....and I mean died. I think some water or other non-friendly liquid got spilt on it and all sound was lost. (this lead to the act doing a non-miced rendition of Keh-san but thats a whole different subject!!)
Anyway the crew scrambled and they ended up repatching the PA through the monitors desk which by chance was a presonus studiolive ( think it was the 24 but i cannot be sure), anyway the FOH engineer had no sooner had this set up and then had the ipad out and was mixing from the FOH location while the desk was stage left. Most impressive. The ipad and the desk seemed to integrate really well, from an observation as a punter mind you, but there were minimal troubles and the band were thankful to the engineer for the job he did.
Its so refreshing to see systems like this that actually work.
