Rob Squire is coming to Integrate

hold on to your outboard folks, I'm coming from the deep cold south of Adelaide up to Sydney for Integrate!

I'm going to be dragging up the Pro Harmonic workbench and setting it up in AT World. It'll be On the Bench Live!

There'll be smoking soldering irons, phillips head screwdrivers, sidecutters, valves and transistors.
I hope to have the lid off a few interesting bits of gear and a chance for everyone to have a look inside and help me poke and prod.
If anyone wishes to swing past with a dead device there is a chance I could take a look, but it might be a good idea to email me first 'cause we don't want a conga line of folks with broken gear stretching down to the harbour and me busting my nuts fixing stuff all day long. However do call past to say hello and ask questions of a technical nature and lift the lid on how things work...or don't work.

is it a vintage toaster? I only do vintage toasters, forget anything with a cancel button, timer or crumpet setting

I've made toast with vintage toasters and digital toasters with crumpet settings and can't taste the difference.

Gearslutz anonymous:

I commented on a discussion about USB2 vs Firewire recently... Sometimes I read threads with the words 'analogue' 'digital', 'mac' or 'pc' in the title...

Rob, can I bring up the 28V supply for you to have a look at? I think once you see it you'll want it!

actually i have hit a dead end with service from my manley vari mu and was just about to ring you about it
its blowing fuses i suspect a dead short in the trannie ( it used to get hot ) - but may be not

manley are ignoring all service emails and i dont have the patience to beg them to let me send it back to the states and take my money

maybe i could send it to you before the show
and if its the trannie you could bring find a subsitute one and do a live open heart transplant for all to see

i hate working on valve stuff with those kind of volts and current
. ..it hurts to much
microphones have stuff all current - hardly hurts :)

I have a waves L2 digital limiter that needs a new power transformer as well and the transformer is on its way from israel as we speak

could be interesting
24 /96 k digital surface mount and serious agricultural sized tube gear both with the same problem on the same bench for all to see

I've packed the DeltaLab DL2 - bringing it to Integrate... but alas, I forgot the 28V supply!

that's very unmanly-like behaviour, is paul fargo still the dude there? i'd be surprised if there's not some kind of communication problem (ie email getting flagged as spam, that sort of thing)?

I'll "man up" to it next week and see if we can get it working.

50kg of tools, test equipment and some home brew widgets have landed with Rick today, ready to be set up next week for On the Bench Live. Hope all the Turtlerockers will swing past, say hello and poke a stick at something live and dangerous on the bench.

'till then...

Hi Rob,

I've got a 96 channel SSL with about 95 not working channels. All the looms are cut and I'm pretty sure someone spilled a beer on channels 1-24.

Can I just drop by with that and get you to sort it out?

K Thanks.

NF

sure thing. I have a special mod for such consoles that converts them into a boat anchor.

Great! I need an anchor for the boat I'm restoring. Love the way this forum works.
