Our friend kristian passed away this morning

Very sad. He was an inspiration. He will be missed.

You are a very special person if you can motivate, inspire and touch the hearts of thousands of people you have never even met. Its a sad day indeed.

Just read about 2 net friends dying on one of my lists.... and then I come here 2 minutes later and find Kristians gone as well. My condolences to Rachael and family.

Very very sad. Sometimes no matter how hard you hope and try, it's just not enough to stop the inevitable. Thoughts with the family.

I just saw the news and I wish I didn't. Rest Kris, you put up a great fight, we won't forget you as you made a big impact all around the world.

I knew virtually nothing about the guy. I don't really know anyone on this forum (except Rob Squire) and yet I feel sick in the pit of my stomach.
Just the thought of all the horrendous procedures he went through - which I couldn't face reading in detail.
Still selling bits of gear a couple of weeks ago, almost as if it was business as usual.
The horrid inevitability of this news is still a shock.
Too many good people dying over the last couple of weeks.

Very saddened by the news of kris passing. Our thoughts are with his family.

Absolutely lost for adequate words..........a deep admiration for someone I'd never met and a deep sadness at his parting.

Although I'd never met Kristian, somehow I felt I knew him through this forum.

There has been a lot of silence in my house today

I don't know what to say, this has made a huge knot in my stomach,

he affected alot of people, an his spirit will live on, I have gone over alot of his recent posts, an just feel bummed, its hard to apprehend he wont be posting, an just feel so helpless for his family,

all this for a person I never met or spoke to on the phone.........

dont know if it is fitting but I will remember how he lived, not how he died.

Rest in peace Kristian. I was so pulling for you to win this battle. From reading your words, it seems like you did win in the end, just not in the way I expected.

Well I guess like so many others on this forum I only knew Kristian from his words posted here and I am sure many others eventually because of his illness and his amazing efforts to bring attention to bowl cancer publicly.

I think many here will feel a unique bond to Kristian as we actually all have a unique bond with each other, a common interest and while that interest may only be held by a small few it make the bond more unique.

I feel this is a time just to thank everyone here for making this a special place in what we call cyber world. But in reality it is the real world.

Kristian's funeral will be held at 10:30am this Friday, at C3 Church Oxford Falls, on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

All are welcome to attend.

The funeral will also be webcast for those who are unable to attend.

I know that Kristian was deeply moved by the generosity shown by so many of you here.

Thanks for the update. I will certainly be there, as will many others, no doubt.

I read about this in the Sydney Daily Telegraph over breakfast. When I read his last blog, I thought of some words from the Jars of Clay song "All My Tears" -

When I go, don't cry for me
In my Father's arms I'll be
The wounds this world left on my soul
Will all be healed and I'll be whole.

My thoughts and prayers are with Rachel and the kids.
