I don't suppose that anybody here somehow *magically* knows a way how to get Logic to function as a rewire slave under Alishad?

Can't use DAE cause I want to mix in 'Tools but I do need to specifically use some of the Logic plugs.

I know I can bounce... but I am getting a little over it everytime the client wants to hear a squarer filter etc.

I was thinking there may have been some cool plugin that would appear to PT as a Rewire Slave RTAS, but appear to Logic as a virtual midi in, carrying MMC and Midi data and be able to bus back to itself in PT.

I know that theoretically it would be relativly simple... but I don't what it's name is, or if it even exists yet.

Comments? Suggestions?

Not stupid at all - that's what I do.

It just gets tedious. Import Midi/Audio, Apply Synth/Effect, Bounce. Import into ProTools.

Basically, If there were an easier/faster way to do it, I think I would be more inclined to experiment and be creative. Maybe I'm just being lazy, but I find that having to do all of the extra steps makes me less likely to try things just for the hell of it.

You could just mix in Logic :P Works for me.

Let's not offend all the Logic users here again eh? You can use tools or nuendo or pyramix or whatever you want. At the end of the day I would pay you $500 if you could tell the difference when presented with a Logic Mix and a Tools mix on a cd.

I know one guy in the States who uses Logic as his main DAW. Still records to 2 inch first though. He has a Slowtools system purely for Beat Detective purposes. And of course he uses an automated desk and a swag of outboard. But he prefers Logic for its flexibility.

That, and he hates Digidesign. And lets face it - what percentage of Digi customers don't?

They are both great programs...

Personally I genarally prefer 'tools for Band type things, and Logic for writing.

At the risk of getting shot down..

Logic has easy to use, and good sounding softsynths, and a couple of great Reverbs - Platinum and Space designer.
The reverb and softsynths that came with PT I find mostly unusable.

In Digidesigns favour, Smack is my favourite sw compressor - I can't afford waves, and Reason isn't too bad.
Plus, I find it easier to comp, and edit audio in 'tools.

If only their powers could combine...

Ahh Kris, you seem to have accidently labeled the files "Logic.aiff" and "ProTools.aiff" - oops.

I dont want to offend anyone.i have had bad experiences with logic and i am very angry at apple for destroying a useful program.I own it .Monkey tools is at least professional but that is not up my alley either.I have ordered a copy of motu dp and will see if this is any better for the type of stuff i do.
MIDI timing and synchronization are critical to me and logic just cant cut it.It dosnt support AMT anymore and it dosnt support MTS properly.if you never come out of the computer ie.you use emulations,then by all means logic is fine but if you want to use it for what it actually was originally designed to do ,well, it dosnt anymore.For me, logic has been turned into a toy.
