I have a cast iron bench drill sitting at rob squires place in Adelaide that he was kind enough to pick up locally for me when there was a cash flow in my world ( before the deluge)
Its kinda heavy and I have to get it to Sydney and out of robs life , he has been more then accommodating but enough is enough .
Anybody got any ideas about a truck or a band or a jetpack that can get it to Sydney for me ?
I am dead beatout of excess moving heavy things funds in the current circumstances but its got to move ?
Thoughts ?

Speaking of moving things.........sorry this won't help you Rick, but it took me a year to finally get my new project from Horsham to Sorrento and at half the price originally quoted; total cost $1300 plus $300 for the crane in Horsham...It arrived on Thursday.

I had a Kawai electric piano which weighed about 50 kilos freighted from the Sunshine coast to Sydney (door to door) for about $60. a rock-si-chord from melbourne to sydney for about $30.

I also had a pair of Duntech speakers freighted from Brisbane to Melbourne for $60 inc insurance. they must have weighed about 40 kilos.

Agreed. Smartsend can be weird people (they once told me I had underdeclared something, and that a small guitar amp I sent was 40 kilos and 3 metres cubed! I had to give them photographic evidence before they gave up on that one), but they are incredibly cheap for door to door service, and are a bit easier than the big courier companies in terms of heavy packages.

If the drill somehow finds its way to Melbourne for pickup on Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning next week, I know a man with a bit of space in his Van that can collect it. ...all things going to plan, of course.

I also strongly recommend temando.com. Its a simple, automated service... gives you a bunch of options, automatically books pickup, emails you the consignment, etc. Cheap too!

i have a couple of showfreight semis doing that journey in the next couple months
first for death cab for cutie, then for bon iver.
I'm sure i could get it on one.

he unloaded it and left it by the door in the inside of the enmore theatre as he knew I was on the way
some bright spark nicked it .. an took it somewhere else by mistake

What a bugger! Hope it turns up Rick. If it's any consolation, in the 60's one of my dad's apprentices nicked his Ramset gun when the family was making a move to South oz. When we moved back to Portland ten years later he found it stored in a shed where the apprentice had left it...........hope you don't have to wait ten years though!
