Does anyone know if certain versions of Autotune or even Melodyne can react to midi input whilst playing back a vocal track?
EG: vocal is playing back, and I can change the notes of the singing whilst the track is playing?
Need to find out how to /what to use for an album where this has been requested of me.

If you look at Autotune it says real time midi for target notes:

Autotune does it, you just need to set it to 'target notes via midi' instead of auto mode and send it midi from a midi track or keyboard. It's done it for years so any version you get that was made recently should work fine.
Cubase's built in pitch correct does it too, and I'm pretty sure the latest logic has one now as well.

Thanks Chris - looks like Melodyne wont - and ATune Evo will - which is great, problem solved.
I thought it may have been a TDM only function...
I just watched a couple of Youtube demo's where they did it successfully with ATune Evo.
Never done this before - only used it to correct the odd bum note - I'm a Daft Punk!

I use the rack version of Autotune to occasionally do this.. Supports pitch bend and mod wheel also!

Late to the thread.... TC Helicon Voiceworks also does (and has a lot more features than just pitch correction).

But i wonder if the TC is more of a harmony box?
Does it do the solo vocal (non harmony) Autotune effect, or does it always want to smooth out the jumps between notes?
The TC box I was expecting to be stupidly expensive - worth looking into at that price

tc does something called hard-tune which is the same as autotune with the 0ms setting I think.
comes in helicon 'synth' boxes, and most likely in the higher end stuff too.

i have one of the pedals, bit of fun.

if you want a vocal processor, the roland VP range look sick...1 man choir ftw.

The Voiceworks (rack model) that I have does so many things it deserves to be used a lot more than I use it.....
- variable granularity pitch correction (that's my term, not theirs)
- harmonies (up to 4 over the primary in selectable increments above or below)
- delays (standalone and on the harmonies)
- reverbs (some nice ones too)
- analog I/O
- digital out incl. AD conversion
- mic in + phantom power
- MIDI
- input and output gain etc.....
