Hey Guys,

A friend has just moved here from NY, and needs someone to change the transformer in his Guitar Amp from 110v to 240v.

Can anyone recommend anyone in the Sydney area?

Thanks,

Smash.

Rock Dog is a good call but far away from the Northern Beaches.
You could try Stan Holroyd at www.standardampworks.com.au
He's in Epping which is a little closer to you Simon.

yeah if you want to save money you should retube before the service. that way they cant charge you retail on new tubes. i used to buy a bunch of ax7s in bulk or ecc83/81 or whatever nos off the net rather than paying $20-25 a pop on an eh tube.

There are 3 possibilities,
a) The amps transformer already has 110+110v primaries and can be easily rewired
b) The transformer doesn't have dual primaries and needs to be replaced (bought)
c) If a replacement cant be found it will have to be rewound or another custom made.

I can sort any of these.
