these guys are one of, if not the only certified avid/digidesign techs in Aus.

That's great info - thanks Peter.
Other local tech's that I've had look at them (rarely) in the past were flying blind a bit.
This one I want to go with a certified Avid repairer.
and I need to fix this one pronto...
