Mike Shipley has passed away.
Condolences to family and friends

That's a bummer to wake up to. A long time ago Mike used to be pretty active on GS, before the dicks flooded it. He was always really open and generous with his knowledge. Something he said that has stuck with me was along the lines of you do whatever it takes to get the result the song or the client needs. Some of the things he did with Mutt Lange were ground breaking and layed foundations for a lot of stuff that is now commonplace. And he was an Aussie, out there kickin major butt. Bit of a studio hero of mine. Such a bummer. Vale.
