Just spotted a Neumann 54 or 254 for a 'reporters mic' in the scene interviewing 'TV Mike' in the original 'Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory'. Too funny.

One of my favorites for gear spotting although it's obvious it will have lots of gear is The Boat That Rocked.Nice Gates consoles, original D12 mics, spot master cart decks you name it. Vintage radio gear junkie heaven.
What other films / TV shows do people like for gratuitous gear spotting (and don't say Sound City)

The new Muscle Shoals docco is pretty inspiring, for gear and music.
I went to see it a couple of weeks ago, and I distinctly remember saying to my partner on the way "well hopefully this will be one music docco that DOESN'T have Bono in it!". Damn, wrong again...
I have been revisiting music produced at Fame lately as a result, and my word, those records sound dirty, full, pulsing and alive.
It's a great tonic for anyone feeling a little jaded or underwhelmed with music and the industry.
Rick Hall is a fascinating character, and the chance to see him at work is not to be missed.
Cheers,
Paul
