I need to share my sadness

Hey all,

I have to share my sorrow. Dave (retrovox) got onto me the other day because he knew I was after some used/damaged gear. The local Prime7 TV station here in Wagga Wagga is closing down and they had a big clean out. Apparently there was a skip full of working broadcast rack gear, reel-to-reel tape machines and a bunch of other stuff. SITA collected the skip on Tuesday and took it straight to the tip, where it was bulldozed!

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Surely they didn't have to murder all their gear!!! :((

Even though as a gear lover that kind of thing breaks my heart, it's always good to be philosophical about these things - 's only stuff after all. ;)

I know it's just stuff, but it's also such a waste to think they've ended up just being landfill. My little studio would have loved and cared for them.

Yep, sometimes it's just a case of being in the right place at the right time, it's always good to know who's doing audio stuff in your area just in case there is a mass turf out like this - the things people throw away is nuts sometimes.

Wagga tip .. Ha !
A friend of mines brother in the very early eighties
Decided his l series strat would look better resprayed
And the ugly old green pickguard was taken out and the
Terribly old pickups with them
He put a shiny new black pickguard on it with lovely
Quiet emg pickups
He was so happy with himself and knew it was such
A great idea that he threw the old sixties stuff in the bin
You can't keep old junk in wagga ..

So somewhere under all that landfill in the wagga tip
Is a set if the best sounding strat pickups ever .

I like wagga .. It's full of stories like that
Too much money in wagga ..clearly :)

I'm just surprised that Dave from Retrovox wasn't all over that. A good Rummage and Salvage is just his cup of tea.
