OK, did a search to see if this had ever been discussed on TR before, but it looks like no.

So... Hatsune is a software vocal synthesiser. Hatsune also has an Manga image.

With these in combination, Hatsune has actually had #1 records in Japan.

So, here is a live performance - with live musicians and a sizable audience, watching a manga hologram animating a computer generated vocal.
