Flood Insurance - Home & Contents

Postby HA_DA_JA » Thu Sep 26, 2013 4:03 pm

Hey its that time of year when Home & Contents comes up for Insurance renewal.
What a hike I had last year , where it doubled due to my Company Suncorp Compulsory Flood Insurance.
I have the luxury like the majority of Australia where I dont live in a Flood plain.
My question to you guys is this - do any of you know of any insurance company where the Flood Insurance part is not compulsory as I would like to reduce my Premium?
Cheers
Dale

NRMA.
We removed it from our policy and saved thousands.

Correct me if I am wrong but doesnt Suncorp now own Apia? As well as AAMI and a host of other places?

Dale...that's right...but they were still half the price !
( one of the reasons is that Suncorp have a house replacement that's very high)
