ie: i have a file, i want to know if it REALLY is 24/96
quick and easy?

Hey mate
If you mean for a complete session then go to "setup" then down to "session"... This will open the session setup window which tells you all that stuff.

if you open up the import audio dialog and select a file it tells your all of that kind of info about it!

no i mean a single file (clip if you will)
happy to take it out of finder and put it in a different program if required?
or is there an easy way to show that info in tools?
clip properties or something?

thanks peter!
exactly what i wanted

and yes… i did know that
but its not how the brain works is it
i wasn't "importing" i just wanted "information" so i didn't think of that process.

should have just waited for you to get here for your session….

quicktime is good for this too - it will give you big vs little endian details as well as some other technical nonsense that can prove helpful

I run a freeware addon in windows that adds a tab to the property sheet of media files with detailed information about it. There are verions for other OSs...

It is based on the standalone version

Ah sorry, I got confused when you said "in PT for example".

Just the file size can tell you a lot if you know the approx length of the audio.
