Perhaps a question up Rick's alley

ive been spinning some vinyl this wintery afternoon and a number of those that
fell on the turntable are test pressings of records that I was involved with back
in the day.

Should I have any concerns about spinning these? Ie is a test pressing as robust as any other vinyl?

not rick, but from the little i know, i think test pressings are designed to be spun a max of 20 or so times...before they "wear"...too much. the material used is not as hardy as what's used in the final product.

i am preparing to be told i'm wrong as we speak

test pressings are just normal records without the pretty label

do what ever you do with a regular record

test lacquers ( that were cut on a lathe ) last just one playing then they are not so good anymore
every play then after makes the worse
