Now we can even use a packet of chips as a microphone, foil, plants etc - using hi speed video.

Wow, that's really interesting, but also a worry for intrusive surveillance. Hope ASIO is not watching.

The basic technology has been around since the Russians used glass windows of the pentagon to spy/record the conversations inside, using lasers bounced off the glass windows to record the audio. The Cuban missile crisis.

Nice to have it now on video - digital, opens the world up to using a whole room, and everything in it as a multi diaphragm microphone.
