Hello I am using LE on a 1.25khz Dual Mac 1.25gig ram OS10.3.9 and am experiencing problems mixing down tracks with H/W buffer errors coming up. If I could just get it to mix without these errors and having to increase to the largest H/W size, I would get much more work done.
My question is would upgrading the hard drive from its current 7200 10,000RPM model fix this problem or is this the inherent LE's problem with the solution moving to the HD platform?
I am running LE6.9 with 24 tracks with keeping the standard Plug in counts down to a minimum, off myabe1 or two per track?
Any advice?
Thnks
Dale

i'm not sure that drive space/speed would have much to do with it....?
i get these errors more if i use a stack of plugs and even more so with the mbox being usb can't get nearly as much stuff happening as with the firewire 002
how are you in the ram department?

Ok there are certain basic things you need to set-up in tools. You may or may noyt have done this but here goes.
1. OS system mac and pt on one drive and sessions on another (so you are using min 2 hard drives).
2. GOTO preferences and limit session to 30 or 60 mins ( but limit the amount HD space PT will use)
3. When bouncing close all windows other than edit and mix windows.
4. When using firewire drives with 002. Mac firewire to hard drive to 002 (daisy chain).
