I can't find published specs for the Crown XLS2500 current draw. Power conumption shown at the power lead is 200W. Would this be idle, 1/8th, 1/3rd or full power?

How much current would you estimate backline draws? For say 2 gits and a bass.

How long is a piece of string? Is it 2x100w valve guitar amps and a 400w valve bass amp or 2x30w solid state guitars and a 50w bass amp?

I've never had a problem running the whole stage off one 10 amp circuit. Maybe adding up the fuse values on said amplifiers would give you a worst case scenario?

I know that last question was a bit vague. Was wondering if anyone had a rule of thumb/worst case scenario that they had calculated.

Most amps are about 25 - 30% efficient, so if it's a 100 watt amp it is drawing around 300 VA, or around 1.5 amps on a 230 volt circuit. Then add in a safety factor of 25% and allow 2 amps for a 100 watt amp, 4 amps for a 200 watt, etc. Then add a little for pedals etc. Lighting is much easier as a 300 watt Par 56 draws 300 VA, or 1.3 amps on a 230 volt circuit so you can run 8 of them, just, on a standard 10 amp GPO.
