looks like i let the proverbial cat out of the bag. i figured you were'nt aiming that comment at me aus so all good mate. as for elitism i think its needed in any aspect of life, if not for it then people wouldnt push themselves to become better at what they do.

as for Jasons post, yes i have some of the blehrenger gear, in have a patchbay which cost me 45 bucks, an autocomp - $95, a multicomp - 125 and a 60W ultratwin guitar amp, the amp cst me 400 4 years ago and would never pay for something like it again. but one bonus is that i scored 4 brand new jensen 12" speakers for it cuz i was a little sneaky and complained to the factory in melb about the cones crackling, admittedly after being thrashed for 8 hours straight haha.

i agree with what Rick has to say though. the guy who owns the company is a capitalist of the worse kind and it doesnt matter how much they claim to be able to offer quality gear at cheap prices it just doesnt wash with me. in fact cheap and quality don't even belong in the same sentence.

perhaps this thread should be locked and left to gather dust, or even removed.

oh people people. just behave. i turn my back for a couple of months, and look at the state you've all gotten yourselves into.

now, aus - you know that turtlerock is unlike any other *pro*audio forum (US based, particularly. maybe there is a good one in slovenia or cuba that i dontknow about?) we're all friends here, and we respect each other and our crap senses of humour.
hell - i trust you boys so much i've even let some of you drink my beer!

so now its time for all of us to sit down in a circle, hold hands and sing a song or two arond the campfire.

Matt robins - you are a bad man. very very bad man.

rick - the fact that you've been kind enough to supprt this forum for so long is a credit to yourself and all form members for not bickering and taking cheap shots at each other all the time.

i own be!@#$%^& gear. it rocks my world. especially when a breeze springs up from the east and i need something to stop the garage door from slamming.

Yeah I have a new be!@#$%^& headphone amp I have to remember to throw in the bin when I find it cause it's so noisy, though would happily trade it for a pack of iced vovo's.

I have a pair of the Behri ECM8000 mics.....quiet as all hell unless I really wind the gain up. A headphone amp that is quiet but one jack socket is dodgy. Headphones my son bought that crapped out on one side. A couple of Behri guitar pedals my son bought me in place of my Boss pedals that he "borrowed" and they are fine................so I've had mixed success but I still won't recommend the gear.
ChrisO.....I think. Oh, and F*#K Google, ask me!

Ive used the headphone amps alot and they work ok I guess. I also have one of those ADDA converters with the on board preamps. It sucks big time but it only gets a run when i'm short on pres.

Have 2 of the patch bays. I let my 20 month old daughter practise her patching skills on them.

Have 1 of those ADA8000 things. Use it for some extra outs on my digital live console. Works fine for that.

Have a few DI100's for pub gigs. Who really wants beer poured in their BSS di's

[secret]

being completely honest,

unused:
1 'mastering processor' AD/DA. i use 1/4 RMG 911 at 15 ips across the master bus instead.
2 DI's
1 'modelled guitar amp' DI
1 'modelled tube amp' DI

used:
1 headphone amp
1 reverb (locked into duty as dual mono on headphone mixes)

I seem to remember you expressing your admiration for one of Uri's headphone amps Rick?

I have a DI - bought when I used to gig in pubs and couldn't be arsed bringing an amp.

Tried to use it on a recording late last year and was underwhelmed by the sound quality.

It did take a beating and is still working though...

Did anyone notice this item?

Rane Pseudoacoustic Infector model PI14
===========================
http://www.graysonline.com/Lot.aspx?id=4198963

All the doco on this item seems to suggest it was a mythical device/hoax - yet here is one in the flesh - but without a power supply.

Any ideas?

Cheers
