fair point...

maybe see how it plays out for you, if you dont get any bites for the package we'll talk further about the seperate sale.
i have 8 stereo channel's staring at me blankly... such a tease.

if anyone is in the market for this type of system, i would definately recommend the alphalink.
bought mine off Kristian a couple months ago, money well spent. this system sounds great! cheap (comparatively) too!

Curious as to why you're "taking expressions of interest" on all your sales of late Angus.

It's not like you're selling classic cars or exotic houses. It's just electronic equipment that can be found all over the place.

Name your price and be done with it. I for one can't stand the 'cat and mouse' sellers and will avoid them like the plague, even if the gear is of interest.

Well - here's the thing.
It's not for sale right now.
And may not be to be honest.
If I find a buyer who is prepared to pay the sort of money I want then I may sell.
Stuff that I definately want to sell generally goes straight to eBay.
No point in listing here usually as you guys want everything for dirt cheap.
And that don't work for me.
Nic (Aearth) gave a lot of his stuff away far to cheap as far as I'm concerned and jolly nice of him really.
But that's not me - I need to get a good price as I am not made of money.
One sale funds another purchase.
So there you have it.
If you're interested pm me an offer and I will consider it.

Are you calling us tightarse, Angus?? :))

I know it gets spouted about a lot, but something is only worth what
someone is willing to pay. I know Nick did sell things for quite cheap, but
quite a bit of it lingered for sale for a long time. I know a few of his auctions
were repeated with price drops. It wasn't that he let it go for "too cheap".

I was slightly interested enough by the UAD cards to click on the thread... but
the interest evaporated with the pseudo auction style of selling stuff. You clearly
have a price in mind... and I'm sure nobody here wants to waste your time with
low offers. But in the same breath you are kind of wasting ours. All I am left thinking
about your sale post is: "This guy is trying to get more than it is probably worth... I'll
pass".

If you post a price, I'm sure you will know much quicker if a sale is going to
result or not.

Angus, if you put something up for sale on ebay and said it "might not be for sale" after all..... what kind of reaction do you think you would get?

Is it for sale, or not?

If it's not, then it shouldn't be listed here... imo.

However it could be with the right expression of interest.
I thought it was pretty clear....
I'm taking expressions of interest - I've had one, anyone else.....
Now back to our regular programming.

ok. :)

This is officially my expression of interest. Please
shoot me the price you have chasing...

then why are you listing it here?

anguswoodhead wrote:If I find a buyer who is prepared to pay the sort of money I want then I may sell.

that doesn't make any sense. so it's not for sale, but if some stooge comes along that is prepared to part with more money than it's worth, then you might consider selling? how enigmatic of you.

anguswoodhead wrote:No point in listing here usually as you guys want everything for dirt cheap.

you included.

I strongly doubt that Nic was basing the sales price of his stuff based on how nice he was feeling at the time. He wanted to move it, so he put a price on it that would allow him to do that. And when he did, the stuff was ~actually~ for sale and ready to be picked up - which is how, for that matter, standard everyday transactions take place.

Angus if I were you I would put it on ebay as a "buy it now" at the price you want to get, with a "make an offer" button.

Then I would post the link to ebay auction here and people can make up their minds without all the cat and mouse games.

As soon as I see the "I'm taking expressions of interest", I lose interest.

good luck.

And then someone will give me $450 inc postage here or on GS and I will avoid the fees etc of Evil Bay.

BTW - that cracked me up Rick - nicely done 'Big Daddy'.
