So uh, what good is this capsule to someone that doesn't have the rest of a U87?

Can it be used as a replacement capsule in other mics? :-?

DIY my friend.
Many are building there own mic's and a proven capsule design like the U87 would be desirable to many.

Well i'm glad i'm the highest bidder so far then....

Although i don't think i will get it, there seems to be some healthy competition already.

We'll see. I've always wanted a U87, even if it is only a clone with a genuine capsule.

The last U87 cap I replaced cost me $700 so if you have a U87 buy it as they don't last forever.

Well, I guess it's not really a bargain if you cancel the auction at the last minute. :-?

Fair enough, but you should probably state it's for sale elsewhere in the auction, or at least set a reserve. Obviously I didn't bid $1, that was your start price & there were no other bidders. It's happened a few times to me where I've bid on an auction that no one else has bid on and the seller cancels the auction at the last minute. Sometimes the item then pops up again at a higher start price. No problem from my end, I still have unused 499 here. But how would you feel if I won one of your auctions & then said I didn't want to buy it anymore? I'm just saying it's not a good way to run an auction.

All the best,
G
