oops. I posted this in DIY by mistake.

Valve Mixer.. I seriously know Zero about it's history, but the fact it has a valve rectifier and ancient square paper caps means it's old.. maybe 60's, maybe 50's.

Bad news - It's 110v

Good news.

8 inputs, 2 outputs.. basically a level control and a switch for each channel.. + 2 master levels.

It worked when I used it last (about 7 years ago)

Simple wireing inside.. just point to point. Will def need caps replaced as they will be dry as a watercracker.

I'd like to put a price, but I don't have one.. So offer away.

I'm guessing there isn't enough gain in there to configure them into preamps?

unbalanced inputs or tx balanced? unbalanced outputs or tx balanced? what transformers? do you have a schematic etc.. What kind of work does it need other than recapping?

To answer questions.

- Valves used - 8x General Electric 6C5's. + 1 Phillips 5Z4 (I bought that new as the original was broken)

It originally had those screw in unbalanced mic plugs, the ones that I often see hanging off crystal mics.. not sure of the name, so, the inputs are unbalanced.

There are two what I thought were transformers, but as they seem to only have two leads, may be huge inductors? (Unless the chassis is used as the other connector), these are both labeled - "Thordarson Electric, Chicago USA, Type T43C92" - (You would think 'T' means inductor?)

The outputs are also wired unbalanced.

Obviously a bunch of old "Mallory" & "Solar" paper caps.

When I fired it up a long while ago, and after I soldered a few caps in parrallel to the dried ones, it actually worked fine.

My plan was to make it into 8 line "Pre's" but my knowledge of Valve's was limited, and to be honest, right now I have got enough DIY on my plate.

Schematics? Um.. No.. It's all point to point. would not take long to suss out for the buyer.
