The module is normally found as a mixing / output amplifier in a Neve 53 Series Console. This module has been fully recapped and serviced.
The module has then been optimally setup for operation as a microphone preamp with a gain range of 27 to 60 dB.
The particularly exciting thing about this unit is the shoehorning into a small 210 x 105 x 45 mm case. Forget the lunchbox©, think snackbox!
Facilities include FET high input impedance instrument input on the front panel, switched gain in 3dB steps from 27 to 60db. Level Trim +5 / - 5dB, 20dB pad, phase rev and phantom power. Mic input, on the rear on a XLR and the output is presented on a TRS socket.
It has big knobs!
The unit runs off an universal 48V plug pack.
Like all Neve modules of this era, technical performance is outstanding and feature chunky transformers. Photos below.
