I have a pretty much brand spanking new M-Audio Profire 2626 & Asus i5 Laptop (N61Jv).
It's pretty much a flawless setup, as the Asus has a PCMCIA slot and it runs a TI chipset firewire card from this to the Profire. It was damn hard to find a modern laptop that could do this.
Recorded 2 classical gigs with it and that's it. Downsized to a smaller tablet setup and I can't afford to keep this anymore.
Price is $375 per piece or $710 for the whole package.
MORE SPECIFIC DETAILS:
PROFIRE: is very stable, unlike other M-Audio equipment - very good drivers. Has 8 octane preamps, 2 independent headphone amps, ADAT, wordclock, spdif, midi, and it is an international edition I hand carried from the UK - comes with UK, US, EU, and AU plugs! Have original receipt.
ASUS: typical asus quality. One of the best trackpads I have ever used. Still has all stickers on and is mint (except for one tiny chip next to a status light), has screen + keyboard protector also. i5-430, GT325M, 4gb ram, 500gb hdd (personally installed cos the stock was too small). Rest of specs as per stock unit, including USB 3.0 (so it's a relatively new machine).

Re: FS Portable rig: i5 Laptop + Profire 2626
hey Duncan, had it in the previous post. Looks like I left it out. seagate sata 3 7200rpm drive. Machine has a win7 license, it can be configured however you like, and I can install any software at all (provided you own the license), office software, browsers, messaging, torrents, imaging, mixing/mastering, optimization. I had it dualbooted (normal+stripped), I can do this for you too, or a single boot, or multiple partitions. Heck if you want ubuntu studio I can do that too.
But naturally, I have to at least zero the drive before giving it to you, can't leave all my personal info on it, if you know what I mean
I am located in Melb CBD
