Hey guys,
I'm only relatively new here but i have bought and sold stuff on here already, never had any issues. Seems like a good community.
Where else do you guys look for good quality gear? eBay/gumtree is the obvious other option, but what else is out there? Facebook groups? Other forums?
Cheers.

Yeah I'd like to know too!
Audio Trading
TurtleRock
Gearslutz (not much Aussie stuff there these days)
Gumtree
I think TurtleRock is normally the best place for the pro studio gear.

For anything high-end, I'd be quite nervous about buying anywhere else. Knowing who you are buying from and how well the gear has been looked after is critical.
The only two exceptions in the last 4 years that I can think of were (a) from the son of a T-rocker and (b) from a guy who works at Turra music that all the Sydney T-rockers probably know anyway.

Audio Trading (yeah I'm biased
)

Where ever you go there is a chance of being scammed especially if you don't know the person so always use paypal and if they won't accept paypal walk away.
Of all the transactions that happened on Audio Trading only a couple of deals have gone south with only one that I know of not being resolved. Of course the buyer didn't pay with paypal which would have been a resolution in this situation.

There is no guarantee that you will get a dime back from a dodgey paypal transaction though. While most thieves are just stupid, and a large portion of the paypal dispute resolutions work because they simply kick the seller up the arse to go to the post office with the package, there is a glaringly large hole in the buyer protection policy for non-ebay transactions.
And from there it is potentially a land of limbo between your credit card company and paypal, or law enforcement and paypal - as you have not technically made a payment directly to the seller.
With that in mind, I would do the appropriate research on any transaction.
