Guys, got a few vintage dynamic mics for sale.
Went on a mic-buying binge a few years back. All three are tested, working, and get very different vintage flavours for vocals, drums, whatever. All three have been converted to switchcraft XLR connectors. Great for getting vintage tones, looks, or as a second mic on a guitar cab etc. I did quite a bit of 1 mic daptone drums a few years back and these did the trick very well. (D9 was my fav).
1. Shield "Pill" mic. Japanese made, probably 60's. Old crystal element was broken and was replaced without a vintage Beyerdynamic capsule (cheap one, can't remember the model) suspended in a foam harness. In great physical condition, no cracks in the Bakelite. Works well in the studio or as a prop for a film clip etc.
$120
2. American D9AT - dual dynamic capsule (bottom capsule not working, top one sounds incredible). Lower output, but has a really full frequency range. Killer on drums and guitar, and good for a loud voice. 1930's or 40's. No yolk, very worn but the physical structure is in good condition.
Pretty rare and generally quite expensive on ebay. $160
3. Beyerdynamic M55. Omni directional dynamic with a great useable tone (I.e pretty full range but with a vintage flavour). Has a slight rattle, probably a small piece of plastic or something that feel through the grill at some point as it sounds tiny and doesn't affect the function of the mic.
$70
HIt me up on mitchcatterall (at) gmail <dot> com for pics and/or more details (also on the regular facebook BST groups and you see them there too)
