If you don't want to buy one or have one for sale, this thread might be better placed in the general forum. Not flaming you or anything, just a point for the future.

Harmony Central (bearing in mind reviews posted there range from the ignorant to the biased to the expert) is my first port'o'call for looking up con/prosumer gear - just don't expect to find Neve gear reviewed there.

Hey Chris,
I wasnt sure I where to post this, hence why I put it here.
Yeah, HC is ok for some stuff, but not a lot of the high end gear, I realise..
I dont want one actually, I'm getting some of Rob's pre's very soon..
Just was interested if anyone had tried one..

I'm thinking you'll enjoy Rob's a lot more.

The ART was part of the late 90's early 00's fixation with tubes. Whatever you made, it had to have a tube in it, even if the tube was just acting as a lightbulb.

From my Aphex 107, I'm guessing the sound is pretty clean, but nothing sparkling. The tube effect is noticable but you do need to crank it up a fair whack to get the flavour, and even then, while nice enough for its own voice, its not the same as a 400V tube circuit. Its doesn't seem to have the same degree of compression effect.

Oh, I agree - I'm going to get a racked pair of the Auditronics 110A pre's that Rob has meticulously done.
I spoke to him a few weeks ago and they sound like lovely pres..
Cant wait - another week or so and I'll be cashed up for them..
