I've only ever loaned my gear to Jamil. He's a shifty looking bugger but he looked after it. (only kidding!!!)

I must admit I have made some money out of hire, but all went back into upgrades, updates, upper end gear so I could give people more options. I'm a plumber that used to be a pro muso in years well behind me. I'm more disappointed that it has not worked out to give young bands good gear to work with at a budget price.
Look it still will happen as long as ( some of you have mentioned) I keep it simple and away from big knobs that think they are doing you a favour using your gear and treating it like it cost $100 to buy.

Yeah "Batter Up". I saw a xxx video that used the bat idea in quite a different way than you guys have suggested. Maybe it could work work for some of these guys.

:-) I think I saw that. Great story.
I once owned a Kennards style Hire & Rental company. It's now actually owned by Kennards, but that's another story. People generally don't have any respect for hired equipment. I will never hire my musical gear to anyone. I will loan some to people I know and trust, OR, as happened recently, been given the ok by Turtlerockers. And yes, Jamil takes care of your equipment.
It's a shame nIC. Your best intentions thwarted by those who don't give a f@#$. They wreck it for everyone else. Maybe Kevin should tax arseholes. That'd stop emissions.
Let's have a chill beer soon nIC. It's been too long.
Cheers
