Maybe someone will find this interesting...

1. I posted this on TR for 2k aus.
2. I ended up selling it back to vintage king where I purchased it from for 1730 us, 2200 aus.
3. Now this very unit is on their used section for 2990 us.

Gulp...

Hope I'm not breaking any rules, but if anyone in oz has highly desirable pro audio they need to shift...

Vintage king...

Exchange rates...

I got a pretty good deal on a Mercury Bruder 8 months ago from Awave for $5390 AUD.
Current US price is $5350 USD so not too shabby considering the current exchange rate and import costs.

The Bruder consists of one V72s channel and one V76M channel.
The V72s is thick and fat and the V76M is a bit more hi-fi but still smooth.

Generally the V72s suit the fellers while the V76M suits the girls and works very well with the Flea 47.

I spent ages looking for an original V72 and also a V76 but the V76's were getting ridiculous pricewise and somewhat of an unknown quantity so I decided to go with the Mercury.

I can't vouch how close a Mercury V72/V76 is to the original pre's but I guess even two originals two will hardly sound identical like old tube 47's.

Anyway vocals through the Flea 47 into the Mercury V72 definitely reminds me the late 1950's! :)
