Greetings,
I am looking for an old broadcast lims designed to compress negative peaks so I can overmodulate (slightly) with an AM transmitter. I now have my antenna up for 160m and am hoping to use AM on this band (amateur radio hobby).
Not particularly worried about cosmetic condition or if noisy etc etc - the setup is clunky and 'agricultural' at best

Regards,
Stephen

Hi Stephen,
I have 2 Audimax 4440 units that I've been meaning to put up here for sale.
They have been modded for fast med slow attack,
which means the $ have been spent on them for mixing - and they are in good condition,
so maybe too good for your needs?
PM me if you are interested - or anyone else that may want a pair?

I have a bunch of Volumax 400s. They have the clipping circuit that can be setup in the way you want.
Pm me if interested and I'll have a look at what I have and if I want to move one on.
I like these CBS units and have collected quite a few.
Cheers,
Paul Maybury

Hi Chris, have your Audimaxs had the memory unit thing bypassed and regular attack and release controls added?
I need to get around to that with the pair I have someday.
Cheers,
Paul

Hey Paul
- I'm not sure about the memory thing.
(maybe I can't remember ?)
One was modded by Rob,
the other was modded by a previous owner
both have fast / med / slow switches

the fast/med/slow switches are internal to the unit sort of like a preset chosen by the installer at the original location (usually radio stations). The adding of the switches to the front panel is simply moving that switch and not altering the circuit. Removing the memory unit is a much more involved process I believe. I've done the former before and not the later. No idea how Chris's units would be modded but I'm pretty certain I read that either Joe Malone or Rob had done the memory module removal on at least a few units.
