goldfoil pickup for a tele

I have a bitsa tele that is a constant rotation of parts / ideas / sounds.
I am interested in finding out whether goldfoil pickups are hype or cool and the neck pickup in the tele at the moment is ok, but not great - wondering if anyone here has one they'd sell me?
Can swap for a SD quarterpounder neck / bridge.
