Selling my wonderful (and historic) Ace Electronics/Ace Tone Rhythm Ace FR-8L (pre-Roland).

I've owned a LOT of drum machines (it's very similar to the Roland TR-77/Hammond AutoVari 64 which it pre-dates) but I reckon it's the coolest of the lot - your next Lounge Jazz project starts here! This is THE latin beat machine.

The volume sliders mean you can mix on the fly, and yes you can combine the beats!

The condition is excellent and everything works. It has just a couple of quite small chips and marks but overall it is in Grandma's Lounge Room condition.

I've just spent a few hours playing with this guy - it sounds SO great. I've loved having it around, but it's time for it to make someone else very happy.

$350… pickup in Melbourne, but happy to post. Will be listing it elsewhere in a few days so get in quick!

Oh and I'm open to trades - always interested in synthy/keyboardy things, also currently shopping for stereo/dual compressors.

Wow! So similar to my TR-77... alas, I note it lacks the "Western" rhythm preset, one of my faves!
These are incredibly "present"-sounding machines. V easy to sync via voltage pulses too, with a little work (see my website).

Hey thanks Adam - yep very mod-able if you wanted to go that way.

Cool website too - I have an almost identical Jupiter 8 story ($600 in 1991 - except I passed. I thought it was a bit rich for an old mono-timbral analogue synth).

Up on ebay shortly - $300 buys it here before it goes up.
