Sniffing around for a new desk

Hi all

So exactly ten years ago I bought my beloved Audiotronics 744 console on this forum. I still love her, but she is getting older and parts are getting way too hard to find. So eventually I will have to strip her working channels down into rack pres.

Anyway, in around 3 months time I will have a healthy bunch of cash, and I am starting to sniff around for a replacement console. Budget of $20K. 24 tracks min.

So folks... what's out there? Sydney preferably, but willing to transport if necessary.

Cool. That Calrec could be worth a look.

I'm not a huge fan of the SoundWorkshop... not that they are bad in any way, but just not a desk that I enjoy working with. And the Amek looks nice, but we really need at least 24 into 8.

I've got plenty of time though, because my money won't arrive until mid June at the earliest.

I still have a DDA Q2 I bought of Gareth for a couple of grand probably close to ten years back. Everything turned to shit and I never even powered it up. I've hung on to it in the vain hope that one day I'd get to set it up and use it, but if I'm honest, that's unlikely. Plus I'm broke (thanks COVID)

that desk was mint!!
so funny... i bought it cause i wanted the three power supplies that it came with for my studio DDA.
so its been through two of us, and essentially untouched.
and i bought it from a theatre that hadnt seem to have touched it!
what a strange old, but mint/ unused board!

definitely worth a look for anyone who is looking.
