both mics look and sound great, was thinking $1850 for the Coles and $500 for the Reslo. Am in Melbourne, prefer to sell locally unless you wanna chance postal damage....

do you mean 'serious' or 'realistic'? because unless your 4038 is new and comes with a warranty, that's about what you'd pay for a new one.

http://www.mixmasters.com.au/catalog/pr ... ucts_id=71

i picked up a mint 4038 from a guy in perth for $900.

and you also might want to read the post about anonymity - unless i'm the only one here who doesn't know who the 'birdman' is.

Regards

Chris

Well I did start out by inviting offers, having little idea of market price. When pushed for prices I looked at eBay and saw Coles mics going for $2k US. Thought I was being reasonable, maybe I was wrong? You guys trying to lowball me? If not make an offer. If you wanna know who I am, Just ask by PM. If I detect any further hostility or ridicule, I'll just leave the forum, if that's what you want?

Thanks.

What Chris is saying is that it's forum policy now to have your full name in the signature as it keeps it real.

Plus most of the people that use this forum are industry professionals and 'are in the know' so to speak of market prices and such so a bit of research on prices may not go astray eh.

Mate, nobody's trying to lowball you.
As you are trying to sell on a "pro forum", just be aware that many here will know the current prices of gear.. its the nature of our industry!
Don't take it to heart - just be prepared to accept comments when posting cold without a price range or pics of your items..

Chris' comments on anonymity are valid - please read the following thread

So that's close to AU $3.5K for a delivered pair, that's a good price, I'd get those if I were you.

Oh, I like anonymity, despite having nothing to hide. Guess that's offensive to the community spirit you got going here, but I can at least say I've been on Gearslutz for a lot longer than Rick has, and I'm yet to offend anyone there! ;0)

i would like you ask you to use your real name around here please
i dont ask for commission on sales , or money or advertising revenue , hell most (as in 95 %) of the forum are not even turtlerock clients

all i ask is from you guys is that you use your real name on my board
( and yes i can deal with members just using their first name for those guys that feel need to keep the big brother guessing and you will notice a couple of long time forum guys have decided to do just that )

but just using internet nicknames is no longer the way we operate
we are moving with the times ( or against them) but i digress ....

no name no posts , we are all free to choose, but i am just a little free-er then most :)

Damn you Big Brother!

So anyway, how much IS the damn Coles (woops, I cursed, is that allowed?) worth to those interested?

No love for the Reslo?

there, that wasn't so hard was it? (then why do I feel so dirty?.....)

Rick's right of course, if it's your forum, you should be able to make the rules.

On my forum you're not allowed to talk about music or equipment .....

Tim,

Yes they are Ns10's in the lounge, where they belong! Actually, the Marantz amp does a nice "tits + arse" loudness curve which makes them surprisingly listenable. I guess that's sacrilege to some of you?

FS pair Ns10's US$5K ( incl free Marantz amp)

both Quality ribbons , both worth having, sale price is ...?

btw i have never actually seen a photo of your studio and from the noise from those others it looks like you have some new fans
see what a bit of undressing on the internet around here can do :]
