I am selling my 2 Manley mono 40db Mic Pre's. They sound identical to my ears but are two different layout's. One I brought new in 1999 and the other seems older with the DI input on the back.
Perfect working order.
Sell for AUD$1100 each.
Alternativly I will sell my Manley Dual Mono 60db version for AUD$2000 .

How do you describe the sound of these pre's?
What do they compare to?
Do you know what Transfromers are in these and the tube types, have they been replaced at all?
Cheers
Dale

All parts are as original. Working well so no need to be changed atm.
Transformers are Manley and tubes I think GE and some other type last time I looked. They all sound identical though considering the dual 60db version has an extra valve per channel.
Anyway sound is clean with a sparkly top end and tight low end very punchy. Sounds incredible on Vox and bass. I've owned UA610 and Avalon 737 and there are not in the same league as the Manley IMO and many others.
My favorite use though is to use them as makeup gain after the "Fulcrom type" passive mixer.I built one for $200 with a bunch of 10K resistors ,copper wire and switches. That's pretty much the sole reason I will hold onto 2 channels. Like adding fairy dust to your mix. SERIOUSLY .....!!. If your ITB that is.

Have lowered the price.
Really don't want to have to go to Ebay with this.
