Wanted: Wooden Case for Neumanns

Hi Guys,
I'm after one or two of the lovely wooden cases that are made for the Nuemann mics.
They dont have to be stamped with a Neumann badge or anything, but I'm looking for a box that will house 2 KM85's (preferably together).
Does anyone know where these can be picked up from?

Your not going to put that Chinese junk in a case where a German precision instrument once lay. I think Heath's suggestion is more appropriate.

Heath, I want something for presentation - as I'll be selling some shortly and I want them to go in a nice box - I'll consider making a box if I have too (yes, working with wood Rick.. its all good)
nIC, did you actually 'read' my post?? As the title mentioned, "WANTED: Wooden case for Neumanns"
I actually have 2 pairs of "NEUMANN" KM85's. Yes, that is 2 pairs!!! It was mentioned to me many months ago that if I had the opportunity to buy Neumann mics at good prices, I should do so - so I have been.
Whats with all the -ve comments about my gear? I dont bag your purchases!!! Gimme a break man!

Both pairs are going to Gunter in the next week to be serviced and have his magic touch done to them.... then I will be selling a pair.

Have you considered hiring a cabinet maker? They will produce a pretty good quality custom made box unless you have the tools and skill to make one yourself, then skies the limit. But to be honest, I have seen average people make some really nice control room tables, but when a cabinet maker makes one, there's a pretty big difference.
I made one myself and it looks half decent with MDF and spare stuff I had from roadcase parts like handles and corners.

My best wooden mic boxes? Go to an upmarket bottle shop, and browse the wines / spirits that come in fancy wooden boxes. Procedure: first, drain the contents of the box (added bonus), then line with foam and enjoy. My last one was, basically, an oversized pencil box, with mitred corners, sliding lid, and fitted two LDCs perfectly

This may be a dumb question so apologies in advance but...
Will a pretty box really add value to the mics you're selling – I mean their Neumann's, and a pair, wouldn't that be enough?

Honestly, I really dont know..
But if you were buying a pair of the same mics, that might come either in bubble wrap or a nice box, which would you choose?
Presentation is everything..

I know someone who can help you "drain the contents" if you need help.

TimS, I know that wooden boxes have a "thing" about them, and an aluminium case looks more Chinese, but ....
Jaycar have a really nice aluminium case (actually they have a few in different sizes) that comes filled with that gridded foam to make your own cut-outs. I have one for my pair of pencil condensors, complete with cutouts for boom mounts, shock mounts and wind shields. It does present rather nicely and professionally. I have a similar setup for my LDC mid-side pair and one each for my valve mics. One case can hold about 8-10 dynamic mics ...
Its another option worth exploring.

i dont know who told me this. but audio engineers are good cases for neumanns....
im a good example, im free, all you have to do is stick the pair in my left and right hand, and turn around :P
