I would be interested in pretty much any model for the right price.

Ultimately I am after the Boss RC50 which by most accounts seems to be the grand daddy of loopers. Unfortunately it lacks a feedback control and although it has seperate inputs for vox and guitar and 3 self contrained stereo loops, there is no way to route only vocals or only guitar to a seperate loop.

Anyway, just thought I'd ask.

I don't have one, but did you see Reggie Watts with his looper pedal on Good News Week last night?
He's supposed to be a comedian? Comedians can't sing and beatbox like that...can they? :)

i've got a boss rc-2 i don't particularly need. i guess you could call it the little bro of what you're actually after...

Chinagraf - I did not see but I did hear about "some guy" with a loop pedal on GNW who was cool. I couldn't help but feel bad for the poor souls who had to sit through the 'comedy' stylings of Paul McDermott and friends. Thanks though, i was curious about who that was.

toddd - I know the pedal you speak of. I was after something heftier than that one but for the right price I might be interested :P

I actually really need the RC 50 for its multiple self contained loops, ie. if i want to switch from a verse to a chorus which has different chords i just hit a button and the chorus chords come through.

I was basically just checking to see if anyone had a looper at a crazy price that could keep me entertained in the meantime :)

have you played with one for a while?

they get boring, sound crunchy, and all but the most talented-est of loopers (Matt Tonks, local sydney guy) generally make people not wanna listen anymore

it has a quantising 'feature' in it, which kinda takes something away from the sound


that said, AWESOME practise tool. which is what i use mine for... it cost about $500 new i think

yeah, well, he is being subtle with it - and not over doing it like I think it would be easily done.
He is a craftsman.

Martin - Yeah I guess my intention with the loop pedal is to incorporate it into my songs/show but I'm very mindful of it taking over. ie. Songs with loops worked into them rather than loops fashioned into a song, if u know what i mean. Similar to how Phil Keaggy uses his loops with subtlety and restrained creativity.

BTW, Just saw battles last night at the opera house, wow, that was cool... Apart from the myriad looping building to ear bleeding proportions at certain times.

PS, just noticed Phil was using two Capos on that link with the bells... One on 5th, and one on 7th, looks like they are partial capo's two... That is also pretty cool.

I saw Phil Keaggy in Canberra eons ago, touring with Randy Stonehill - he was doing the looper thing back then to improvise multi-part fugues. He's not just a great technical guitarist but well versed in music theory as well - you need to be to carry off this stuff, unless you loop percussion only. Andy Summers also did something like this with The Police when touring ... ah the Brisbane Festival Hall, thems were the daze.

PS Anyone know the truth or urban legend status of that "greatest guitarist" thing with Keaggy? Where Eric Calpton gets asked what's it like to be the world's greatest guitarist and he says I dunno, ask Phil Keaggy. Sounds like a legend, especially as I've heard it elsewhere as Mark Knopfler or (insert any great axeman here).

I've read about it on the 'net - the rumour goes that the comment was attributed to Hendrix.
