New iMac 24" for sale (3.06 GHz, 4 GB, etc)

I purchased this iMac because I found myself in a bind mid-way through a scoring project and I HAD to buy something on the spot given my older mac was buckling at the pressure. I've bought a longer term machine also hence this baby needs a new home.

This was purchased mid March and has only been used for one scoring project only which equates to around 100 hours of use, so what you will be buying is a ridiculously fresh iMac 24". Brand new you could say.

3.06 GHz Processor, Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB Memory DDR3 1067 MHz
640GB hard drive
8x double-layer SuperDrive

This is the NEW model which was recently released, hence I don't want to loose too much money on it.

The new price on the specs you have given here looks live the $2999 model with the upgrade processor. Your price is only a savings of $270 off what the new price is.
Dick Smith had a 10% off sale & JB Hi also regularly has a 10 % off sale on Macs so I dont think that is much of a savings here. I would buy new so I would get a full warranty on a product like this. My 20" imac needed a new logic board within the 1st year of buying it, then needed a new power supply within the 2nd year. Still an awesome machine. Kids dont skimp on extended warranties. They can be bought for less than $150.

Extended warranty is a good thing, and I have certainly taken one out on my new Mac Pro. But I did look into it at the time with the iMac and the consensus was they are pretty solid machines. Yes, you are correct in the model. It's the upgraded version, and buying this model meant I was able to save on the higher-end graphics card which came standard with the 3.06 model. Hence, this is essentially the same spec as the higher one, sans the higher spec graphics card which will never be utilized by music production software anyway. But thanks for your helpful comment.

The 10% off deal DickSmith ran finished end of financial year and I know JB won't be having another for a while now.

If you are looking for a new machine this is as good an option as anything on the shelf, warranty still covers this until March 2010.

$2900 and it's yours - I am listing on ebay after this weekend however so please get in touch asap if you are interested. It's around a $300 saving to buy off the shelf for practically a new machine.
